SCHUBERT & SALZER

SCHUBERT & SALZER - Precision , Made in Germany

Schubert & Salzer Control Systems’ products can be found in a wide variety of areas within the process industry. Whether it is in the production of chemical or pharmaceutical products, food processing, bottle filling or the production of steel, polymers, paper or solar cells and tires – in short, wherever liquid or gaseous flows need to be controlled, we will be there for you.

Our valves are amongst the most efficient on today’s market when it comes to energy consumption, durability and sound pollution. Their compact construction and high quality and control accuracy mean they are easy to install and service. Our valves do the same job as our competitors’ products but we use less material to make them so they are environmentally friendlier and much lighter.

SLIDING GATE CONTROL VALVES

Over 40 years ago, Schubert & Salzer’s sliding gate products were developed as an efficient alternative to conventional control valves. The design is uniquely simple, but is intelligently engineered to tackle complex applications which require precise control under taxing conditions.

The GS series incorporates a unique variable orifice principle which translates into a highly efficient yet simple design which incorporates features that are important for our customer’s needs. The valve is light in weight and compact in stature yet it has the capacity, temperature and pressure specifications that exceed many other products.

The sliding gate valve series controls liquid, vapour and gaseous media precisely, quickly and economically. A sealing plate ( 2 ) fixed in the body ( 1 ) at right angles to the flow direction has a certain number of crossways slots ( 3 ) of equal height.

A moving disc ( 4 ) with the same arrangement of slots moves parallely to the fixed disc, thereby changing the flow cross section. The prevailing differential pressure presses the moving disc ( 4 ) against the fixed disc ( 2 ) and seals it.

The advantages of sliding gate valves
  • Fits into tight spaces
  • Light in weight and compact in stature
  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Short strokes reduce wear and tear
  • Minimised wear and tear in cavitation applications
  • Extremely low leakage rate
  • Outstanding rangeability, Up to 160:1
  • Optimal flow control
  • Variable KVS-values
  • High differential pressures
  • Low heat or cooling loss due to a reduced body surface
  • Highest control performance and response sensitivity
